15th August 1947 was 'A 'Red Letter Day' in the history of India as we got emancipation on that very special day and broke the shackles of slavery .Since then people of our country celebrate this festival with great pomp and show every year. Independence day remains very significant for countrymen as we commemorate the valour of our brave hearts those who laid their life to death voluntarily for the sake of upcoming generations. On this prominent day cultural programmes are organised across the nation in which children manifest their artistic skills and relish the celebration of independence.
To enliven this historic day, DAV Police Public School Sirsa celebrated 77th 'Independence Day' in school premises today with immense enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.
The school campus was adorned with flags, balloons and flowers to make the event momentous. Students of all the classes participated in various activities with massive zeal and performed tremendously.
Hon'ble Principal Mrs Kusum Sharma began the celebration with hoisting the 'National Flag' in the presence of a gleeful gathering of teachers and students that was followed by 'National Anthem'.
Cultural programme commenced with a euphonious song 'Janani Janam Bhumi Swarg Se Mahan Hai' sung by students that turned the school ambience vigorous. It was followed by a sensational 'Classical Dance' performed by the students of all classes that made the school echo with festive colours.
Shining stars of class 1st and 2nd exhibited their choreographic dexterity and performed a beautiful group dance.
To remise the sacrifices of nation's heroes, a 'Patriotic Poem' was recited by the students of class 4th, 6th , & 7th.
Students of class 9th also sang a soulful song 'Ae Mere Watan Ke Logo' and recalled the selfless acts of our forefathers.
Girls of all the classes demonstrated a splendid 'Haryanvi Dance' and manifested a spectacular show. Teachers and all students tapped their feet on music to make the event memorable.
Reverend Principal Mrs Kusum Sharma culminated the celebration with her magical words. She enlightened that freedom is sacred and we must ensure that it should not be endangered. She advocated and guided students to work tirelessly to take our nation at new heights of success.
